| The Belize reserve aims to redefine the term ‘eco-community’, which has become far too overused in recent times. All of the homes and land sites in the Belize Reserve will be truly self sustainable and ecologically friendly in every respect, setting a new benchmark for others to follow.
Their will be a number of ‘village’ subdivisions within the Belize Reserve, each of which will follow the same principles in terms of self-sustainability. Each lot comes with water supply and waste provision, and power will be provided by solar panels that come as part of each house design once built.
All electricity in the reserve will be generated by solar power, utilising new solar panels that Someplace Else’s sister company, SPE Innovation, has developed in Macedonia, that are 80% more efficient than standard solar panels. Each house will have their own solar power supply, as will the eco-hotel and conservation centre. This will mean that their will be no ongoing running costs for power. |
